The WINertia™ AV Spreader Roll is manufactured by machining a taper in the center of the WINertia AV Idler Roll to create a "reverse crown" profile. Tapered dead shaft rolls form a larger diameter at the outer edges and a smaller diameter in the center of the roll. This design creates greater surface speed at the end of the roll. The result is a web tension distribution that spreads the web from the center outward.
